Williford claims that "when building goes down for us, even when it's flat, remodeling goes up…People might ask, 'How can someone afford to remodel their house right now?' Well, people don't want their homes to take the same precedence as the next. It'll give you the competitive edge when you need to sell your home." Many homeowners opt for bathroom and kitchen remodeling to add value to the home more than for aesthetic concerns.

As the mobility of Americans decreases to reach the lowest percentage of moving people in the last 60 years, the remodeling industry is booming.
