Remodeling companies are enjoying high demand as more homeowners upgrade their current properties for three main reasons – increase resale value, attract potential buyers and make their homes pleasant to live in. By requesting remodeling projects of different kinds, homeowners are helping their local economy. According to the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) - remodeling projects boost local economies by creating jobs and increasing local income.
Senior economist of NAHB explains that every $100 million spent on home improvement creates 690 full-time jobs and generates $36.7 million in local income and $3.2 in local taxes. Once earned, the nearly $40 million gets spent in the local process, creating another 320 jobs. Combined, remodeling projects create 1,010 jobs, $4.9 million in local taxes and $54.2 million in local income.
Remodeling projects benefit not only the homeowner or the remodeler but also the welfare of the society. Creating more jobs and making sellable more homes - remodeling projects revive local economies by pushing down unemployment rates and bumping up home selling trends.
