-The entry door is durable and contains a peephole, safety chain and some sort of high security locks like deadbolts.
-An intercom system so you can at least speak, if not see visitors wanting to access the building.
Get to know your neighbors and become familiar as much as you can with your human environment. Always lock entry points to your apartment because an opportunistic burglar will jump at the chance of getting in via an open window or door. Think about installing a burglar alarm system to sound upon detecting motion when you are absent, and consequently scare off the unwanted intruder.
