How to Secure Property Using 3-Zones Strategy

Maximum home security against burglaries requires the installation of security devices, including high security locks and access control

In general burglaries tend to rise in times of economic turmoil. Making your home or office less attractive and less accessible to burglars, should be your top objective when purchasing residential and commercial security devices. People find the spectrum of security solutions available today for purchase highly confusing, only to buy ineffective and inappropriate security devices to their property.

The 3-zones strategy divides your home into three sections vulnerable to attack by the unwanted intruder, in hope of indoor access. This strategy will allow you to safeguard your home without puncturing your wallet.

Zone 1 - Outdoors
The outdoors surrounding your property will be the first zone to be attacked by the unwanted intruder. For maximum home security, make your outdoors least inviting, with proper lighting at strategic entry points. Make sure all windows and doors are fully lit to deter an unwanted intruder from approaching the premise. Gates to your back yard should be locked, and further lock up ladders and outdoor equipment that may facilitate the break-in. Install inexpensive motion-sensor lights around the perimeter of your outdoors, to light up when detecting motion.

Zone 2 – Entry Points
All entry points to the home must be resistant against forced entry. Installing high security locks on entry doors, including garage doors, will withstand lock picking techniques employed by the intruder, and keep indoors protected from burglary. Even if you have not installed outdoor lighting, safe guarding entry points with deadbolts and other strong locking mechanisms will still prevent forced entry.

Zone 3 - Indoors
Burglar alarm system will activate load sound upon forced entry detection. Earsplitting sounding alarm will scare off unwanted intruders, and further alert neighbors of a potential break-in attempt.

The 3 zone strategy directs you to the places most easily tackled by unwanted intruders. Although your outdoors can be easily accessed, lighting will deter the burglar from trying to approach zone 2. With unlit outdoors or a very persistent intruder, high security locks will prevent forced entry to zone 3. Without lighting in zone 1, and high security locks in zone 2, an alarm system and other access control security solutions should scare away the prowler. Instead of splashing money on ineffective security measures, safe guard the 3 zones leading to your property for maximum protection.
