Shady Locksmith Pressure People to Pay Bump Up Price
Emergency lock outs enable shady locksmith to pressure customers to pay up bumped up price
Nationwide reports unveil a shady locksmith company stinging people out of their money in emergency lock out situations. A crew of shady locksmiths saturates the market with ads totting low fee emergency services only to bump up the price once forcing open the door for the customer.
Locked out of their cars, homes and offices, people call the local low fee locksmith assistance but in effect reach an out of state call center. A crew of con-artists is dispatched to the location in unmarked vans to force doors open, and then demand up to five times the price quoted on the phone, leaving no other choice for the customer but to pay up the drastic overcharge.
The Better Business Bureau (BBB) has issued warnings against this shady operation, running under several fictitious business names. Shady locksmiths were caught on camera as they tried to pick a relative easy lock, and charging more than 11 times the initial quoted price. If handled by a professional locksmith the customer would have gotten inside the house for less than $100, but under the "care" of shady locksmiths was forced to pay more than $400.
Shady locksmiths are giving a bad name to reputable locksmith companies who are working hard to meet the complete customer's satisfaction. Licensed Locksmith New York recommends storing the number of professional locksmith service providers on cell phones to avoid reaching the wrong hands in emergency lockouts.
Emergency lockouts do not mean that service providers can overcharge up to 5 times the quoted price. Locksmiths across America together with the BBB advise people to contact local 24/7 service providers recommended by family, neighbors, and trustworthy internet reviews. Better still is to research your locality for reliable and licensed locksmiths and keep their contact number for future references.
